Nearly a year after the Pacific Palisades fire reshaped this community, this past weekend marked an important moment of progress and connection. Our Kagawa Showcase Home, now the first ground-up new home rebuild in the neighborhood to receive a certificate of occupancy, opened its doors to residents, partners, local leaders, and families navigating their own recovery journeys.
As the Wall Street Journal highlighted, this new home rebuild stands as a symbol of what’s possible as rebuilding accelerates across the Palisades, with more than 360 new home projects already underway.
The weekend celebration actually began a day early. On Friday, Rick Caruso visited the Showcase Home for a private tour, underscoring the significance of this milestone and the momentum building throughout the community. Homes.com covered the visit and noted the home as the first new home structure completed since the January wildfires, a meaningful point of pride for a neighborhood working to come back stronger.
On Saturday, we welcomed hundreds of homeowners and neighbors for our Grand Opening event. Guests toured the completed home, enjoyed local food trucks, decorated cookies with their kids, and connected with our team to explore what rebuilding a new home can look like, quickly, safely, and with purpose. We filmed both days to capture the energy and emotion; videos are embedded below for those who couldn’t join us.
The Showcase Home is more than a model home. It is a tool for education, a source of inspiration, and a clear expression of our commitment to helping families come home faster. For many who visited this weekend, it was the first time since January they felt optimism for what is ahead.
We are honored to support this community on its path forward. This is only the beginning.
