Our very own Gina Nixon was honored with the B.J. Stewart Women’s Achievement Award at 2021 SoCal MAME, while TJH won for Best Website and Best Logo
In early October, the Thomas James Homes (TJH) team and our brand marketing partners were awarded some of the industry’s highest honors at the 2021 SoCal MAME (Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence) Awards presented by The Greater Sales & Marketing Council (GSMC) and Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIASC).
Gina Nixon, TJH Executive Vice President of Marketing, was awarded the prestigious B.J. Stewart Women’s Achievement Award. In honor of Barbara J. Stewart, a leading figure in Orange County-based real estate advertising, the award recognizes outstanding women in the housing industry whose accomplishments, knowledge, humanitarian spirit, community involvement, willingness to share knowledge, and dedication toward the advancement of other women serve as an inspiration.
“I have been lucky enough to work in the homebuilding industry for more than three decades and am still passionate about the work I do and our industry as a whole. I am both humbled and grateful to join the close knit sisterhood of marketing professionals who represent excellence in our industry.”
— Gina Nixon
Nixon began her career in the building and community development industry in 1989. Before joining our team at TJH, she held senior-level positions with regional and national builders and land developers, and built a successful track record in strategic real estate planning. At TJH, she oversees market and consumer research and analysis, sales management, and brand direction for each of our divisions.
Her many professional achievements are only eclipsed by her pronounced involvement with charitable, community, and industry organizations. She breathes the TJH mission to serve communities in tangible, thoughtful and consistent ways, dedicating time and energy to various organizations. In addition to affiliations with the Urban Land Institute (ULI), National Association of Home Builders, and the Building Industry Association, Nixon has also served as past president and current board member for the Council on Shaping Advancements in Generational Environments (SAGE). Philanthropic endeavors and passion projects include the Solutions for Urban Agriculture (SFUA), serving as an advisory board member and initial grantor of the Giving Farm (Westminster, Calif.). Her dedication to service has also been noted when serving as a former Impact Giving Partner, past grant committee chair, avid supporter, and fundraising support for the Live for Others Foundation, L4OF.org, established by Nixon’s oldest godson Tim Vorenkamp to fuel cancer research for synovial sarcoma, a rare cancer that took his life in 2016.
“When we hired Gina, we knew right away that her talents surpassed a sizable list of bulleted accomplishments on paper. She has become an invaluable asset to our organization—always leading by example and maintaining an incredibly positive outlook—regardless of the potential challenges that cross her path. We are proud to have her representing our brand and its future both in and outside the building industry.”
