Location, location, location.
Choosing the right neighborhood to call home plays a crucial role in how you live, work, play, and connect to a community. Location is everything. But if there’s one addition we could make to that quintessential phrase, it would be design, design, design. The two go hand-in-hand, and connecting a well-designed home to a desirable location creates a greater sense of place for those who live there and the community.
As experienced land brokers, The Reiser Group understands the importance of harmony between the architectural design of a home and where it’s built. For more than 20 years, they’ve grown a large network and trusted reputation in the Bay Area, working with residential builders, developers, and homebuyers alike. When it came time to launch in the East Bay, The Reiser Group were obvious partners to identify potential homesites in highly sought-after East Bay neighborhoods.
“We love TJH and have known their team for years. Their business model and home solutions are unlike any other around. It’s a great group of people behind TJH and we’ve been encouraging them to expand to the East Bay for years. We’re excited for what they are bringing to the area.”

From state parks to the arts
One of the many allures of the East Bay is the endless possibilities of the area, whether you’re a city dweller or crave space to roam and explore. Among the highlights is access to Mt. Diablo State Park, just east of Walnut Creek, Alamo, and Danville. Outdoor enthusiasts can hike the trails up to the 3,849-foot summit and take in views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Mount Lassen, and even Yosemite on a clear day.
“We’re right in the middle of everything. There’s a handful of international airports within reach, excellent schools, and all kinds of shopping and dining. It’s also easy to get out of the East Bay and go wine tasting in Napa or skiing in Tahoe. The East Bay has the best of all worlds.”

This side of the bay is also full of big-city-style amenities, such as outdoor retail centers with upscale retail and entertainment, and a culinary scene that rivals San Francisco’s. Each community has its own unique character with historic downtowns, parks and nature reserves, bike-friendly streets, and high walk scores. Nonetheless, whether it’s Walnut Creek, Alamo, Lafayette, or a surrounding East Bay community, something these neighborhoods all share is how much they unapologetically value family first, evidenced by their top-ranked public schools, recreational parks and playgrounds, community-centric events, and additional space that many families crave.
“Many of the opportunities we’ve identified for new TJH homes are on spacious lots that still offer easy access to San Francisco but without the higher cost of living and frustrating traffic. The geography here is also incredible, and there are wilderness parks in every direction with hiking, trails, mountain biking. People that live here pinch themselves because it’s an oasis.”

The Reiser Group + Thomas James Homes Partnership
This March, The Reiser Group will celebrate its 23rd anniversary. Owned by Tom, born with real estate in his genes; his father was a home developer in Contra Costa County. It’s also where Tom formed The Reiser Group in 1999 after earning his bachelor’s degree in business and real estate and embarking on his first development project in Walnut Creek. A natural leader, Tom heads up business development for the company and oversees the company’s portfolio of communities, land transactions, and potential opportunities.
Before working together, Steve’s experience spanned real estate, hospitality, and data technology. He successfully developed and launched a global hotel consulting firm, followed by a brokerage company in Walnut Creek. Active in the local community, he is a planning commissioner for the City of Walnut Creek and Past-President of Contra Costa Association of Realtors. At The Reiser Group, he oversees all sales operations and has led the initiative with our TJH Northern California division to identify potential homesites. Safe to say, he stays pretty busy.
“What stands out about TJH is that they offer a convenient one-stop shop for designing and building beautiful, high-quality homes. You’ve got incredible professionals—contractors and subs, designers, project managers. They manage everything from start to finish, all under one roof. It’s unheard of for new homes.”
